The US Forest Service's American River Ranger District office has voted to use one of my paintings ... <http://www.douglasfairchild.com/ ldar/ldar.html> ... in case you want to see it .... for the district logo or something of the sort.
I am rather honored.
Anyway, I am not into charging them anything, and would really like to keep the agreement as simple as possible. But I want to protect my copyright.
What I thought I'd do is get a description of what they plan to do with it ... like T-shirts, brochures, or whatever ... I don't really know yet ... and write them a letter saying that it is copyright Douglas Fairchild 2009 and they may use it (for stated purposes) with my permission.
I wouldn't expect any chicanery from these guys, but misunderstandings do occur now and then, so I'd like to head any such off at the pass.
Any comments?
.... Doug
