Hello all,

Not having ventured into the realm of development for mobile devices I
come to you for advice and to learn from your experiences.

Can you tell me if there is a current "best practice" as far as page
dimensions to develop within for a site to be delivered to mobile
devices? I know there is a very long list of variables to consider in
terms of exactly what devices are being targeted and how they all
render, but is there a starting point I should be working from at the
outset?

I've heard dimensions as small as 120px width up to 320px (the
iPhone's narrower screen dimension)

Do you have experience on this I might benefit from? Any help is
appreciated.
