Maybe I was just lucky. I've been using Seagate Drives for years and never a problem, but I have had three drives fail on me during the same time: One La Cie, One Digital Caviar (Western), and one IBM. The La Cie arived, I backed up my whole drive on it preparatory to reformatting my main drive and when I turned it on to replace stuff on the newly reformatted drive, it went "Pffft!". All gone.
So, remembering past disasters, and reading the bad news on Seagate, although I think I got my drives well before the problems aroze, I'm thinking about getting me multiple external drives. In addition to website and design work, I've got paintings and photos that took me hundreds of hours work to do.

Are you referring to the external drive at <http:// eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MHU27500G32/> ?
Do you know what brand drive is in it? They don't seem to say. That always worries me. They don't manufacture the drives, do they?

Good idea. Thanks.
