EI v7 - a placement problem - divs overlapping
Now here's a puzzle: The menu on the page, <http://www.polsonironworks.ca/stories/Hercules.html> is just fine in most browsers - but not in EI 7 - and I wondered if anyone can offer an explanation.
I've got the layer the menu is on as position: fixed; so that it stays with the viewer as they scroll down the page, and this works fine in Safari, Opera, and Firefox. There is about a half inch vertical space between the menu and the text of the page, as intended.
What happens in EI 7?? Here is a page (screen snapshot) which shows it <http://www.polsonironworks.ca/probs/> (a friend sent it). The vertical position of the menu is OK, but it slides to the right, overlapping the text by about an inch. This is not good!
Can any of you people knowledgeable with code suggest a work around - or point me to information that I might be able to understand?
I'm afraid I'm grasping at straws here, and would appreciate any help at all that anyone can offer.
TIA, and Happy Easter/Passover/Spring/Fall - whatever
Jenny
(I posted essentially the same question a few days ago, but it was badly worded - for which apologies, and no one replied, so I'm trying again.)
