Is it possible to send an email with a form in it so that the recipients can fill in the form in the email and submit it, without necessarily having to go to the website, and the information is then sent from the form to the client just like it would be from the same form on a website page?
(Note: there is a "if you can't see the picture" link in the body of the email to the website, but my client would prefer that to be a backup for cases where the recipient's emailer fails to load the images.)
This client does business with some large drugstore chains, one of them having some 7,000 stores in the US. His product UPC codes are already in the chain's computer system. No money is transacted via the emailed form. He is just collecting preliminary orders or leads for orders which his staff will then follow up by phone and/or direct to- the-store-manager email or FAX. All money transactions are completely off the email line ... done with faxed Purchase Orders, Snail Mail and bank electronic fund transfers. So it doesn't look to me like it is necessary to limit referrers. I could be wrong of course, but that's how it looks to me.
The way the scripts are configued, though, is to refuse any submission that is not via a server in the list. That prevents submissions from hundreds of possible customers from being able to submit the form.
You can see one of the email layouts here: <http://www.theperfectstick.com/LTD/index4mail.html >
Right now, the emails are sailing off into the ether outbound for Arcturus and beyond, but I am confident the server guru can fix that. It is the other matter of being able to submit the form from within the email that I am hoping to solve.
If anybody knows how to do that, it would make my whole month if you would educate me on it.
Thanks ....
Doug
