My original question (see below) - loong time ago.
It has taken me some time to quite figure out what's going on with browsers that users can alter their font settings in.
The trouble is: > On Mac Firefox doesn't obey my font size settings, they are in px's. > The first line below images should be a smaller font size. > In the Red menu in the right hand column the font size is too big so the > list > of links are cut of at the bottom. > This doesn't happen in Firefox v.2 Mac, nor with Firefox v.3 Win.
All though I assigned a class to control a long list of links:
And bingo, the font size no longer can be altered by the user.
I put up a small test page for font sizes to view the alterations in the user prefs. http://www.rasmussens.dk/font_sizes/ If you like to play.
My conclusion is: That when you work with a static layout and want to ensure that the pages looks almost alike cross browsers, you have to use pixels.
So Gary, thank you for leading me on track. Only thing with your solution is that layouts can be fucked up if users tangle with the prefs for font-size.
Martin, thank you for the image capture thing I changed that one. Not as you suggested, instead I created a new class.
