Longtime lurker desperate for -- gulp! -- IE workaround/fix for problem
Ah, for the days when I could do just about everything in GoLive Cyberstudio and Internet Explorer wasn't a concern at all... *sigh* These days I'm building sites in just about anything and everything that happens to work at the time. And, lucky me, most times it "just works."
Except now.
The current Home Page of this site works just fine, EVEN IN IE6(!). Navigation, sliding panels, even the LightWindow effect on the "Hours and Directions" link in the header:
http://www.tampabayhistorycenter.org
That's the good part.
The bad part is the site's being redesigned to a wider 960 format, and the sliding panel effect has been modified with new color combinations and icons in a smaller area to the right of a sidebar which will contain editable content, and the @#$%^&&*!! sliding panel images are INVISIBLE in EVERY version of IE -- 6/7/8:
I get the occasional "flash" of at least some of the images, which made me suspect the position: issue I've read about. But futzing with position:relative on various elements has had no effect whatsoever. And the darn thing looks so good in Firefox and Safari... Mac AND PC! @#$%^&*@!!!
ANY thoughts? Hopefully I'm just missing something painfully obvious (except to me), like an IE conditional or the order that I'm calling the various Javascripts or CSS. But I've been looking at this for so long my eyes are starting to bleed... and my wife's gonna be awfully upset at the mess! ;-)
Well, at least I still have my sense of humor...
Many thanks in advance, Bill Wilson
