Matching identical records in separate tables
I have 2 tables.
One is the master table that contains all student enrollment records.
The second is a list of enrollment records entered into the system from a student-generated form by the student's extension campus.
I have created a unique calculated key in both tables that ensures that, if the keys are the same, the records in each table are truly identical in content.
The 2 tables are related to one another via this key.
I want to have a Boolean calc field in table #2 that is TRUE only when a matching record has been found in table #1.
The goal is a quick visual indicator (flag field, conditional formatting, whatever) that will tell the user at a glance if a discrepancy exists between the university's records and the student's.
How do I do this in FMP10? Does a standard function exist that will accomplish this?
If I need a custom function, where can I find it? I looked on Brian Dunning's site for such, but couldn't find one under the names I thought to look under.
Thanks!
