AI is primarily used for logo design and the odd (very odd) bit of print work I still do.
That is, after all, where I'm originally from (yes, the little known Scots community of Illustrator, Kansas, founded in 1874 when, after a wee dram or twelve too many, a Scottish couple got *seriously* lost on their way home to Monifieth from a wedding in Carnoustie, a distance of some 3 miles).
I do use it quite a lot for wireframes for web pages though. Probably not a tool I'd recommend for that normally, but in my case, after 20 years, I use Illustrator on 'auto-pilot').
Photoshop gets a lot less use round these parts (mostly for the bezier pen tool, in fact) but AI remains the Adobe app I'm most dependent upon.

I don't know of anything I'd consider ready for professional use - or at least my particular subset.
Although to be fair I've not investigated in any real depth. Jon Hicks mentioned a few at the bottom of this post <http://hicksdesign.co.uk/journal/a-big-assed-post-about-fireworks> but when I looked at a couple of them (admittedly earlier versions, maybe a year or so back) I wasn't hugely convinced.
They've doubtless improved since, but I suspect the one I really want is still 'on the drawing board' somewhere.

Miles
