[OT] Shameless plug for an ambient music generator to create royalty-free soundtracks
Hey you all,
Before I start, I should say that there is my own personal involvement in this software, but even still, that's no reason to avoid it. Secondly the application itself is for Mac users only.
At the beginning of this year I just happened to find this really cool software and through a problem getting my application to register at first, I started a rapport with the developer and started suggesting methods to get this software exposed to the general public, since it was a great program and the biggest problem was it had never been promoted whatsoever in the four years it has been out.
One thing led to another and now I am the “Director of Marketing” for SonicMood.
That being said, please allow me to tell you how this could be very helpful for some of you creating websites, as well as others creating soundtracks for film, movie, video, podcast or whatever. SonicMood creates a combination of both ambient music and nature soundfiles and blends them beautifully into these incredible pieces of audio that then does not repeat. Once you buy the software, whatever you create or record from it is royalty-free, so you can use it as you please, as if it is yours.
There are 28 pre-defined “Moods” to start off with. The Moods have three MIDI instruments and three Soundfiles. Each Mood can be endlessly edited and altered to your exact liking. And you can easily enough create your own Moods.
Not only is this a great tool for creating ambient music soundtracks without having to muck around in GarageBand or anything else, you can create what can be a professional soundtrack with this $12.95 software application. (It is priced too low!)
The main purpose of this software though is to create a soothing, relaxed sonic atmosphere to work, relax, meditate in. In recent months we have found research proving that listening to 30 or more minutes of this type of music daily can even significantly reduce high blood pressure. That news was released by the American Society of Hypertension on May 14th in New Orleans. ThatÂ’s when I decided to make 30 and 120 minute mp3s for each of the 28 Moods and then give each Mood its own domain and thus its own website. The 15 minute mp3s are now on iTunes and Amazon. These audio files are all are royalty-free too.
For you Mac users, you can try SonicMood for 14 days of use (actual use and not 14 days from the day you start trying it) as a full, unlimited application. Earlier this year the application was only $9.95 and I got him to raise the price to $12.95 just recently. Next year we will have a newer version (5.0 written in Cocoa) out along with a “professional” version that will be selling for $39.99, more than likely.
PS... what brought this on was when I was thinking about a website “breathing in and breathing out” while playing audio from SonicMood and perhaps making a website for SonicMood that way. Then I thought that maybe some you all would appreciate something as nice as SonicMood. Its free to try, so what not try it first? -- This list is a free service of LassoSoft: http://www.LassoSoft.com/ Search the list archives: http://www.ListSearch.com/GoLive/Browse/ Manage your subscription: http://www.ListSearch.com/GoLive/
