Long time listeroos know that I have a dedicated server with http://Golivehost.com / Richard McLean. Today, was especially exciting.
I had just finished a new site, database driven for a membership organization: http://fletcherbusiness.org Each member can update his/her own information. All pages are DB driven. All content, all SEO, etc. All content is database driven.
Last night, the organization sent out an email announcing the new site with cudos to Biz for getting it done, etc.
All good, right?
Not quite. This morning, about 9 am, I was installing some new tables to deliver some newly requested pages.
The phone rang, one of my short beagles jumped into my lap, and a tree fell outside my office window at the same time I was deleting a table that wasn't just right.
I screwed up royally and instead of deleting a table, deleted the WHOLE 26 table database. One I had worked on for 3 solid weeks! Tons of data!
Panic set in. I had no site. NOTHING! My heart went into overdrive... I could hardly breathe.
Panic message to Richard... and within 45 minutes, he had last night's database from back up server, reinstalled on my dedicated server.
Richard is the Tech God of the Day, Year, Century as far as I'm concerned.
