Does anyone have any recommendations for a good icon generator? Something
into which I could input some text, select some sort of style, get an icon
as a result?

Preferably free, but something cheap would work too.

I've been Googling various combinations of words designed to solicit that
result for the last 2 hours or so, and have only found various sorts of not
so great. (Unfortunately you kind of have to mess with the various things
you find before you decide that the result is not to your liking, hence the
2 hours.)

I've found plenty of nice and free for non-commercial use icons themselves,
but I was hoping for something into which some specialized (meaning, not
likely to be found prefab) text could be inputted.

OR, I have Photoshop too. A recommendation for a tutorial on how to create
something that would look relatively professional (read: not crap) might
work too.
