Using DW for interface, advanced record set feature.
I am trying to create a business directory where clients are assigned a category. All good if they are just in one category.
Page 1 has list of categories. Click on a category and it goes to result page with everyone who has that category in it. All good.
DB set up: 2 tables
A = members name, address etc. with a category_ID, and category2_ID B = category with category_ID and category_name
In resulting page, using record set, if I just do a filter by ID, this works fine:
SELECT * FROM `2008members` WHERE ID = colname
All the bankers are in the banker page, etc.
BUT, if a banker is also a mortgage guy, I want his second category to show up on the mortgage page, hence the 2 cat_IDs.
So I need to ask that when clicking on a category, show all records that are in both cat1 and cat2 show up.... (hope this makes sense).
This didn't work:
SELECT * FROM `2008members` WHERE ID = colname AND `2008members`.category_ID OR `2008members`.category2_ID
Neither did this SELECT category.category_ID FROM `2008members`, category WHERE `2008members`.category_ID OR `2008members`.category2_ID =category.category_ID
