As per my previous comments copied below.
This was not the first such instance, but it was the 'dealbreaker.'
Basically I needed to identify around 80 used pics out of about 400 on each of two sites and ditch the unused ones. Also some html pages client had added, again some now redundant.
GL9 was a waste of time; bin all identified 'unused' files, still no bugs, start opening pages, missing pics, bugs appear in site file.
Bizarrely, in some but not all instances, the Inspector showed the active link for the missing pic in the trash, so obviously GL was 'tracking them - in which case why show them as unused?
In other instances, path in Inspector was unchanged and of course pic was then missing in page.
Couldn't discern a consistent pattern as the red mist decided, so trashed the whole app and did it all 'manually.'
As I said, GL CS later executed exactly the same process flawlessly with the same sites.
I thought Microsoft had made the only software which can't count (IE) but it appears Adobe's managed it as well.
A computer programme which can't add. Interesting concept.
