Trying to ask the same "actions" question differently...
Sorry you all, I just do not know enough about this to use the correct terms and like so that I can express myself properly.
Nick said: "Select your link and set it like always with a target="_blank". That will have it open in a new window in case they have JS turned off.
Then, still with the link selected open the Actions palette. Chose new action, on-click, open window. The pallet will change to offer you options as to what size window to open, whether it can be resized, whether they have a menu bar, etc. Select those you like."
I am not able to get this far. I am not able to make a link "stick". This is because essentially I am trying to make a link to itself is what I am thinking. So please allow me to try to re ask this by first explain what I am trying to do.
I would like to make a Flash image slideshow to just become its own thing on the web. Whether it be completely on its own on the web, like so I can send an email with the link to it and then when they go to this, all they get is the little 400 X 500 pixel flash show.
So using BannerZest (which is an absolutely killer tool!) it creates a folder on the root of the server for me and inside is all the Flash and XML stuff. Inside of this folder is an html file that you open in your browser and it then opens up a webpage that not only shows you the Flash generated show, but also gives you the HTML code to paste into your webpage to make this Flash show happen. There is a "pro" option that will assign these little Flash shows there own url, which is essentially what I am trying to do, but it is $85.00 more than I can pop at the moment. So I know there has to be a way in which I can do this within GL 9.
What I have been trying to do is to make this Flash show I want as a stand alone little web window is to make it its own index.html page within the folder created by BannenZest, but whenever I try to assign a link to it, the link field empties itself instantly after I put in the link. I think it is because it is to itself.
Therefore, so far, I have not been able to get the "actions" to work for me. Since it will not hold the link, it will not let me get to the actions that I need.
I think I might be getting close, but no cigar yet and no idea what I should be doing.
Do you all understand what I am trying to do here? Suggestions?
Thanks for any and all help,
Robert
