Wrapper background and bottom graphic

I believe I wrote to this list that I opted to try the "auto" option and take my chances with the scrollbars. That came back to bite me in the butt, so now I need some more help, please.
All my previews in CSSEdit were fine as I worked on adding a graphic to either side of the "file folder" area in the 3rd (bottom) area of the page (with the "auto" overflow attribute) until I uploaded the files to the site. When I viewed the page live online - it had scrollbars!!! They had NOT been there in CSSEdit but when I went back and looked again, there they were in CSSEdit.
After a lot of grumbling, I switched the "auto" attribute to the above suggestion (100%/hidden), which got rid of the scrollbars but now I've lost the white background and borders on the bottom part of the page AND the bottom graphic, which was there perfectly before (it completes the "file folder" image).
It's probably because of the way I kind of fudged the layout for the "file folder" area but I was going by the only tutorial I've found so far for adding the side graphics.
If someone could please take a look at what I've done here: http://workspace.xcitingideas.ca/index-testcss.html and let me know what idiotic thing I've done, I'd greatly appreciate it. I was SO proud of myself for getting the page virtually perfect ... until those ruddy scrollbars appeared. :>)
