Regarding the center content area, I would like to achieve the same border effect on a centered table, but don't know if this is possible. I think it is an image referenced in the #container, "background:url(content_bg_top.jpg) no-repeat top center;" but since I cannot view the bg_top.jpg itself I am not sure.
Currently on my site I'm using a style applied to the centered table,
..vert_table /* gray vertical rule for center table with show empty cell rule added */ { background-color: #f1ebe8; width: auto; height: 100%; border-right: 2px solid #c0c0c0; border-bottom: 2px solid #c0c0c0; border-left: 2px solid #c0c0c0; empty-cells: show }
but for some reason on three of my site pages it gets broken when viewed in Firefox on a PC (PC IE and Mac Firefox seem to be okay). The gray vertical line disappears and part way down the page the border becomes a black vertical line, ending before the botton of the table. All pages use the same external style sheet and is constructed with the same elements, including a component for the title image, MenuMachine 2 menu, a relatively placed div in the table cell for the center content and a disclaimer component in the last table cell. BTW, I'm using GoLive CS on an XP Pro PC to created the site and pages. These two following page are not "live" in the menu.

....and this page that is completely rough and undergoing revision, but has the same vertical rule issue
http://www.redshift.com/~lorac/sdy-53-54.html
Since I cannot figure out why the style is not implemented properly on some pages, including the ones linked above, I want to try applying the effect that is on the page at CSS Zen Garden. Would any of you be able to help me understand how I can apply the same border style to a centered table?
By the way Miles, your sites look really cool and well designed. Is that Cezanne font you're using on the Darwin Song Project site? I use the same font on my site, but I use Gifs because that suits my level of coding capability. I enjoy reading the GoLive Talk posts because I'm exposed to so many new things.
