Thank you for the reply. I've rethought the situation and have tweaked the main placeholder image for the thumbnails in Photoshop so that it has a level of transparency and left the little kitty in the lower right corner full opacity. My next thought was to save the little kitty as a png. Since I haven't worked with png files and there are so many settings, I had no clue how to save it in Photoshop, so I opted for gif and will investigate png further. It's another learning curve. I also wanted to wrap the text around the kitty, sorta like you can do in InDesign, but don't know if it's do-able on a web page. Another learning curve.
Even though GoLive is defunct, I find this list ever so helpful because it forces me to think and learn new things. And Rob, thank you for Menumachine. Using MM2 makes my life so much easier.
