One of my clients needs to review the contents of a folder on occasion. This folder contains images that she will be uploading. The uploader renames files sequentially if she already has that name in the folder. Therefore, sometimes she will need to look in the folder.
By inserting a .htacess file with
Options +Indexes
that works fine. The content of the folder is listed.
But, to protect the folder from prying eyes, I was hoping I could password protect it. But when I try that, it shows "forbidden" so she then can't see the directory's contents. So I'm probably canceling out the initial htacess setting.
Is there a htaccess file content that will give me both options?
(Then, to complicate things further, those images need to be called to live pages by visitors. Even with password protection, that isn't interfering so far.)
