iframes and/or other iframe-like situations, mostly . . .
Hi everyone. I want to create a page that contains a table with cells. Some of the cells will be menu-stuff and others will probably be ad-stuff. And then I wanted one of the cells to be a frame containing a URL from another site (no worries, everything's on the up and up).
That's all fairly straightforward, but the cell that contains the URL from the other site will be more dynamic, changing pages, moving through records and stuff like that. I also was hoping it could be the case that when the user clicked on something within that cell/frame/other URL to navigate to another page (still within the frame), the rest of the cells in the larger table would also simultaneously refresh as if they were going to another too. One will probably be an AdCarousel that goes to another random ad in a predefined set when the page refreshes. But only when the page refreshes.
I sort of accomplished this with a "regular" (non iframe) frame set, but really, it looked so completely crap I'm just going to scrap that entirely.
Is there a way I can do this with iframes such that the rest of the cells will refresh as it they're going to a new page too? Again, in case I didn't already explain this clearly, I meant when the iframe refreshes/goes to a new page, the rest of the stuff would too.
Or, if not possible with iframes/not a good idea with iframes, is there another not so very difficult way to accomplish this goal?
Appreciate any feedback! Thanks!
