Anyone know of a good script for this search form scenario my client has requested:
Three dropdown menus, each in its own column, each of which list the same fields (around 50 of them...!), but you can only select one field in each form. Idea is to limit number of fields selected but still allow user to select from any field. (Addendum: also nice to eliminate whatever is selected in the first dropdown from the second, and same for second to third dropdown, but that's less critical.)
Selection of a field in each menu makes that search field appear below the dropdown menu. No matter where that field is in the stack of divs, classes, or whatever defines each field as a discrete unit for show/ hide, it always appears at the top of the div.
I've searched various jQuery solutions but haven't quite found one using a dropdown menu that places the selected field at the top of that column (i.e., right below its associated dropdown menu).
I do have some ideas about this, but they're awfully laborious and seemingly hamfisted (e.g., define 50 divs x 3, position absolutely [I think a z-index may be required, too]).
