This is my first attempt to use javascript outside of what is available with GoLive and plugins written for the program. At this point I'm getting a bit confused. If my page is HTML and the scripts are written in XML how does that affect the page?
Since I'm not comfortable with jquery, I don't want to do away with MenuManchine. I'd rather find a way for it to work with other script on the page. I installed the Firefox plugin Firebug, but I don't know the first thing about javascript and I can't really debug a page. At this point I need to rely on using jscript that is written correctly to begin with. I guess there are many opinions on what is well-formed script, so it's a learning experience.

But I am! Actually, I stripped the Lightbox 2 code from the page and uploaded to the server. I then checked the page in IE 7 and it now works without error. So it's back to the drawing board. I'll pick one of the versions from the list Martin supplied, hoping that I choose one that will work in the page.

Hi Rob
I'm glad to see you're here. I've been a fan of MenuMachine since the first version and don't want to do away with it just because of this issue. It made my life much easier in the beginning. I'm just sorry that your new version will not be compatable with PCs. As mentioned above, I did strip the Lightbox code from the page and uploaded a new version.
So it's back to the drawing board... again... This expereince is making me really hesitant to try Galleria, but somehow I'll find the courage to muddle on. I've always used tables to control layout, but I recently set up a page using pure divs and CSS and was succesful, so that gives me an incentive to continue. One step at a time...
Thanks for all your advice and help. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions!
Carol
