Dear List,
This question is about registering into a site. I have a used the
software Putty (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/) to
allow registering and password access to a page, but it's manual.

I'd like to allow people to be able to register and gain access to a
site, but automatically - the person fills out a form with basic info
incl. e-mail address, postal address etc, chooses a password and some
form of user name, and is up and running. They get a welcome message,
I get sent the form info. Similar to e.g. phpBB.

Does anyone of you know of a package that will enable this? Preferably
as usual, cheap or free.
